Usage Agreement / Terms of Use

The Nonprofit Solutions system was established as a free, extensive, on-line database of pre-screened consultants and contractors who specialize in working with nonprofit organizations. This site allows users to perform a quick and easy search of potential consultants and learn more about their skills, backgrounds, and competencies.

Nonprofit leaders and consultants are encouraged to contact us with questions or for assistance in clarifying needs, narrowing the list of consulting specializations and possibilities, and accessing resources to assist you in becoming a better consumer or provider of consulting services. >> npsol@iupui.edu or call 317-278-9170.

These Terms of Use govern your use and/or involvement in the Nonprofit Solutions database. Please read the entire Usage Agreement carefully before indicating your agreement with the Terms of Use. You must accept and abide by the terms of the Agreement as presented in order to use the Service.

If you do not agree to be bound by the Agreement as amended, you must stop using the Service.

Terms of Use

  • Access to the Nonprofit Solutions (NS) database is free and open to the public. There is no fee to use or search this system, or to access any of the NS's expertise or resources related to the online system.
  • The database is a network of pre-screen, but neither recommended nor guaranteed, consultants who have demonstrated experience and a satisfactory capability (though not necessarily expertise) in certain areas as demonstrated by their references.

How Your Information Will Be Used

Your personal information will be used for the purposes of this searchable database only and will be used solely to identify and match consultants to nonprofit needs, based on the information provided by the consultant. No information will be used for any other purpose without your express permission.

The IUPUI Solution Center and Nonprofit Solutions Initiative may send occasional notices, email notes, or newsletter to users of this system, however, any individual may "opt-out" of these notes and notices by replying to the Solution Center Nonprofit Solutions staff at npsol@iupui.edu.

Nonprofit Solutions Assistance

  • The NS Program Manager will assist nonprofits by answering questions and providing assistance and advice on using the NS system effectively.
  • NS Staff will not suggest or recommend any particular consultant included in the database or single out any single consultant in response to inquiries.

Usage Directions and Rules

  • In response to keyword searches, the software returns a listing of consultants who have provided at least two references for each area in which they have indicated that they have experience.
  • NS staff have reviewed the comments of each consultant's references and found them to be acceptable; however, the Solution Center staff in no way endorses or guarantees any consultant in this database.
  • Once you have identified a consultant, we strongly encourage you to request and check references, and to use due diligence before contracting with any consultant, supplier, or vendor.
  • Please review the "check lists" provided in the NSC Resources section. This is intended to give you guidelines and tips to narrow your search, identify and hire a consultant, and manage the relationship.

University Liability and Responsibility

If there is a problem with a consultant, or a consultant has concerns about the use of the system, complaints should be put in writing in the "Compliments and Complaints" form available on the Nonprofit Solution site. Once received:

  • An initial inquiry will be made by the Nonprofit Solution Program Manager, who then may decide to take the question to the board. We likely will rely on our NS Board of Advisors to review complaints.
  • The Solution Center reserves the right to deny service to any person or involvement to any consultant if it is determined that such person has violated the Terms of Use or has falsified their representation of themselves, their credentials, or their references.
  • If a user has a complaint about the Nonprofit Solutions staff or program manager, complaints should be made in writing to Teresa A. Bennett, tkbennet@iupui.edu.
