Thank you for considering application to the Nonprofit Solutions database. We are very excited about the potential for this system to link central Indiana nonprofits, community organizations, and government to a wider range of consultants.
In the development of this online system and community of consultants, we have learned that it is critical to find a balance between setting high standards that will earn the respect of users while ensuring our ability to include a large number of consultants and contractors with a very broad range of experience and backgrounds.
We have organized this system into 18 categories of service expertise. You will be requested to identify your own areas of expertise or specialization, and then provide at least two references for each of those areas you have noted. For example, if you say you are a strategic planner, you need to provide the names and contact information for two recent strategic planning clients who can speak to your work.
We encourage part-time consultants and individuals that have other full-time employment to bring their unique expertise to this database. The system will allow you to highlight special skills you have in working with certain types of organizations, languages you speak or write, etc.
We also encourage you to complete a profile and provide two references, even if you do not feel you have reached a sufficient level of experience to define yourself as a professional consultant. As an aspiring or part-time consultant, your profile will be visible to other consultants who are looking for help with projects that may let you further your experience.
Lastly, we have elected to adopt the Consultant's Code of Practice recently established by the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and ask every consultant in the database to adhere to its tenets in addition to any guidelines established by other associations you may belong to.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
